Smashing Magazine has compiled a list of 40 excellent free fonts. It is a great collection of some stunning typography and if you are at all interested in sprucing up your next design with something a little more daring than Times New Roman it is worth a look.

Please keep in mind that some of these fonts are for non-commercial use (though many allow free commercial use) so I would read the license before downloading and using them.  

As I traverse the web I do occasionally come across some exceptional sites. Today I want to share two particular gems that I visit for some of my wallpapers: Vladstudio and InterfaceLIFT.

Vlad Gerasimov (unsurprisngly the man behind Vladstudio) is obviously incredibly talented and there are some amazing scenes and graphic designs available on his site. I thoroughly recommend a visit.

The other site to check out is InterfaceLIFT. This is a collection of user-voted, high-resolution wallpapers. There are again some amazing shots here and with the added bonus of being available in ridiculously high-resolution you should be able to find a nice backdrop for even the largest screen.
